IconPackager from Stardock is a icon modification utility which applies different styles to the icons included with Windows by default.
Using the application is pretty straightforward, allowing you to select from a pre-defined set of different icon sets while also allowing users to modify those icons in different ways including changing the tinge, hue, color and overall look of the icons.
With IconPackager, you can customize virtually any type of icon used in Windows including those used in the Start Menu, the Windows Explorer all while being able to preview them before applying the settings.
After changing icons, you can also direct IconPackager to change the behavior of items the icons represent like when the application launches.
After all is said and done, IconPackager really does beautify the appearance of your desktop and if you're unsatisfied with the results, you can always direct IconPackager to revert the changes.
